June 2013
The Yarn Tasting in May was so much fun that I have decided to do another one myself. I have ordered a new line of Peruvian organic cottons from a small company in California and to introduce them to you we will have a yarn tasting. Like the other, there will be door prizes and snacks and fun. Why organic cotton? Because growing cotton in the regular way requires a HUGE amount of pesticides, and then there's the processing too. Mercerizing cotton is a chemically laden process as well. Organic Cotton is softer and for babies especially you don't have to worry about pesticide and chemical residues. Organic cottons are grown in a variety of colors and then with the line I have ordered the dyes are all biologic as well - using mostly plants. A few use bugs or other animal products but most of these are Vegan friendly yarns. I didn't know this before but Peru won't allow any genetically modified seed in the country! This Yarn Tasting is June 29th. That's a Saturday, from 9-12 again. Come try out the new yarns!

=======================================================
If you are interested in signing up for a class, stop by the store ahead of time or give us a call at (615) 217-4966 to reserve your spot and pay your fees. Private lessons are also available at $25/hour. Supplies for the classes are not included in the cost unless so stated. We require that that you buy supplies for classes here at the store. Using the appropriate yarn and tools makes learning a more successful and satisfying experience. Registration for classes requires payment at time of sign up. If you have a group of folks who want to learn to knit, crochet or do other fibery things, let us know and we can set up classes for groups of 4 or more.
If you want to learn to knit with an individual lesson, we strongly recommend an hour lesson. 30 minutes is rarely long enough to pick up very much if you've never knit before.
Cancellation Policy: Please be sure you can attend before signing up for class. If you can notify us a week before class of the need to cancel, you may be given credit for the cost towards another class. Under a week, credit will only given if another student can be found to fill the space. There is no refund for missed classes. No makeup classes are given and teachers are not permitted to meet away from the store for makeup classes. Classes that don't make (have at least 3 participants) will be canceled and of course we will refund the fee.

My sister-in-law and I would love to learn to knit. The problem is we both work during the week and live out of town. We would have to take the classes on a Fri night or Saturday. Is that possible? and how much would it be? Thank you!!
